Money has a positive effect on psychological adjustment, i.e., on your happiness. This fact has been evidenced by a couple of large scale studies. Today it is beyond dispute that psychological benefits of income differ in strength across different cultures. However, in which cultures money is particularly strong associated with happiness - and why - is not clear yet.

By examining anonymized data from 187,957 eDarling members from 11 European countries we found where money makes particularly happy!

Studies show that race is a strong factor influencing the way people choose their partner. The preference for partners with a similar race characterizes all types of romantic relationships, ranging from dating to marriage. Not wanting to have a partner outside of your own race has been largely attributed to the role of individual norms and preferences, the influence of family and friends, or the lack of opportunities for meeting people of other races. But does the reluctance to date outside your own race still influence partner preferences in the Internet dating world?

Single mothers are a highly overrepresented group in the online dating market. Thus, we focused on that special group and compared their mate choice criteria with those of women, who don't have any kids.
