Would you date outside your race? An analysis of online daters’ racial preferences --- Part 2

We also found that apart from a person’s racial background, education also has a major influence on the preferences that Internet daters have in terms of race. Compared to the lower educated, the highly educated are consistently more open to dating racially diverse partners. Additional results show that not wanting to date outside your own race is significantly higher for women, older users, members of Christian or Muslim religious denominations, and online daters with previous relationship experience...

Studies show that race is a strong factor influencing the way people choose their partner. The preference for partners with a similar race characterizes all types of romantic relationships, ranging from dating to marriage. Not wanting to have a partner outside of your own race has been largely attributed to the role of individual norms and preferences, the influence of family and friends, or the lack of opportunities for meeting people of other races.
